About Kathu
Kathu is the hilly, green district in the middle of Phuket, sitting between the beaches of Patong and the shophouses of Phuket Old Town. Once the heart of the island tin-mining era, it is now known for the Kathu Waterfall and its jungle trails, the Kathu Shrine, lush golf courses at Loch Palm and Red Mountain, and Andamanda Phuket, one of Southeast Asia largest water parks. It makes an easy, central base and a good day-trip target for families and anyone exploring beyond the coast.
