Overview
Grind Time Co-Workspace & Cafe is a purpose built coworking space in Chalong, on the quieter southern side of Phuket. Spread across three floors on Chaofa East Road, it pairs a serious work environment with an easy going, sociable feel, which has made coworking in Chalong genuinely popular with remote workers, freelancers and small teams. The Chalong Bay site is the flagship of the Grind Time family, and it is backed by strong community feedback, holding a 4.8 rating from more than 180 Google reviews at the time of writing.
The building is designed so that different kinds of work can happen without clashing. One floor is set aside as a dedicated quiet zone for heads down focus and video calls, while other areas are deliberately more relaxed and social. That split means you can grind through deep work in the morning and unwind over a coffee or a game of pool later, all under one roof. There is also an on site cafe serving free coffee, tea and snacks to members, so you rarely need to leave the building during the day.
Facilities and work setup
The workspace is well equipped for full time remote work. You will find high speed WiFi throughout, reliable air conditioning, and a range of seating options from casual hot desks to fixed dedicated desks and fully private offices. Grind Time also provides monitors, keyboards and mice at many stations, which is a real bonus if you travel light with only a laptop.
For calls and meetings there are private phone booths and bookable meeting rooms, so client calls and team catch ups do not disturb the rest of the floor. Practical extras include a kitchen with a sink, microwave, fridge and water heater, secure lockers for your gear, and a keycard security system that also enables round the clock entry for members. Both car and motorbike parking are available on site, which is handy given Chalong is a drive or scooter ride from most beaches and nightlife.
The social side is a signature part of the Grind Time experience. Relaxation areas come with sofas and beanbags, and the fun spaces include ping pong, a pool table, a PlayStation and VR gear. It is this blend of productivity and play that regulars tend to highlight in reviews.
Membership and pricing
Grind Time uses a tiered desk system, and prices below are drawn from the venue's own website and should be treated as a guide rather than a firm quote, since rates and promotions change. Standard hot desk access starts at roughly 375 baht per day, about 1,605 baht per week, or around 3,745 baht per month. Dedicated desks and premium station desks cost more, with monthly dedicated desk rates in the region of 4,815 baht and station desks around 5,885 baht per month.
The key upgrade to consider is 24 hour access. Standard day rates cover the public hours, while a plus 24H add on lets you work at any time of day or night. Expect the 24 hour tiers to run higher, roughly 589 to 642 baht per day and up to around 6,420 baht per month for the top station desk. If you plan to work evenings or across time zones, the 24H membership is usually worth it. Always confirm the latest pricing, deposit and contract terms directly with the venue before committing.
Location and getting there
The primary site sits at 35 to 36 Moo 9, Chaofa East Road, Chalong, Mueang Phuket District, Phuket 83130. Chalong is a central hub for the south of the island, close to Chalong Circle, Chalong Pier and a good spread of restaurants, gyms and services, and within easy scooter reach of Rawai, Nai Harn and Kata. Parking on site makes arriving by car or motorbike straightforward.
Grind Time also runs a second Phuket location at Rawai Beach (17 to 18 Wiset Road, Rawai), which is closer to the coast and popular with the Rawai and Nai Harn crowd. That Rawai site carries an even higher review score, so if you are based in the far south it is worth comparing both. A further Grind Time branch operates in Pattaya, outside Phuket.
Good to know
Public hours are 9am to 6pm, seven days a week, with 24/7 access reserved for members on the relevant plans. Day passes make it easy to try the space before signing up for a week or month. Because Chalong is more of a local, residential hub than a beach party zone, it tends to suit people who want to actually get work done. If you need a quiet floor for calls and focus but also value a community with games and events, Grind Time in Chalong is one of the stronger coworking options in southern Phuket.
