The Avani+ Samui day pass, sold by the resort as the Avani+ Chill pass, is one of the few official pool day passes on the quiet south-west coast of Koh Samui. For a fixed price, non-guests get a day at a beachfront resort in Phang Ka, on the Taling Ngam side of the island, with access to the pool, the beach and the resort's non-motorised water sports, and the price comes back as restaurant credit for food and drinks. It suits travellers staying in villas or smaller hotels nearby, families who want a calm beach with a pool, and anyone touring the sunset coast who wants a base for the afternoon.

Overview

Avani+ Vacation Club Samui (still widely known by its earlier name, Avani+ Samui Resort) is a Minor Hotels property with 58 rooms and pool villas, some of them right on the beach. It sits at 53/5 Moo 4, Phang Ka, in Taling Ngam subdistrict, facing a shallow bay with the small islands of Koh Madsum and Koh Tan offshore. This part of Samui is far quieter than Chaweng or Lamai: there are no beach bars lined up along the sand, the bay is sheltered, and the resort faces west, so the evening light over the bay is a large part of the appeal.

The resort describes itself as the best hotel on the sunset coast and leans into a relaxed, playful style, with a vintage VW truck serving cocktails, Essence Restaurant and AvaniSpa for treatments. In-house guests get free kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, bicycles, beach archery and beach games, and the day pass extends the water sports to day visitors.

What the Avani+ Samui Day Pass Includes

The resort's own flyer for the Avani+ Chill pass, published on its official Facebook page in April 2026, gives two prices:

  • Adult (12 years and above): THB 1,000
  • Child (4 to 11 years): THB 500

What is included, according to the resort:

  • Restaurant credit for dining and drinks
  • Pool access
  • Beach access
  • Non-motorised water sports access

The resort's post describes the idea simply: a day by the pool, the sea a few steps away, and dining credit ready when you want it. The flyer does not spell out the exact credit amount or the opening hours, so confirm both when you book. Third-party guides have described the credit as equal to the price paid, but treat that as something to check with the resort rather than a promise.

Facilities for Day Visitors

The main draw is the beachfront pool area, which looks straight out over the bay. Loungers sit between the pool and the sand, so it is easy to move between a swim in the pool and a paddle in the sea. The resort points guests to the calm waters of its cove for kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding, which suits beginners.

Food and drinks come from the resort's restaurant and bars, and the day pass credit can be used there. AvaniSpa is on site for anyone who wants to add a massage, although spa treatments are charged separately. The resort is not certified halal, but its FAQ says pork is prepared separately and the menus list ingredients in detail, and vegetarian and vegan dishes are available with advance notice.

Location and Getting There

Avani+ Samui is on the south-west coast, roughly a 40-minute drive from Samui International Airport and around 20 minutes from Nathon Pier, where the car ferries from the mainland arrive. The nearest beaches and villages are Phang Ka, Thong Krut and Taling Ngam, all quiet areas with a scattering of local seafood restaurants. Public transport is limited on this side of the island, so most day visitors come by taxi, rented car or scooter. Combine the day with a visit to Nathon, the Ang Thong viewpoints along the west coast, or a sunset drive north along Taling Ngam and Lipa Noi.

Good to Know

  • Book ahead by phone or email. The resort lists +66 77 485 299 and avaniplus.samui@avanihotels.com for the day pass.
  • Children aged 4 to 11 pay the child rate. The flyer does not list a rate for children under 4, so ask when booking.
  • Bring sun protection and a hat. The pool and beach face west, so the afternoon sun is strong.
  • Prices are shown on the flyer without a "++" sign. Check whether any charges are added when you reserve.
  • Spa treatments, motorised water sports and boat trips are not part of the day pass.

Is the Avani+ Samui Day Pass Worth It?

For a quiet day on Samui's sunset coast, the Avani+ Samui day pass is good value: THB 1,000 for an adult buys a full day at a beachfront resort with a pool, a calm bay and free non-motorised water sports, and the price is returned as restaurant credit. It is less suited to anyone looking for music and a party crowd, but for families, couples and visitors who want space and sea views on the south-west of the island, it is one of the best official options.
