Overview

The Kimpton Kitalay Samui day pass, sold by the resort as the Chill Out Day Pass, gives non-guests a full day beside one of the largest hotel pools on Koh Samui. Kimpton Kitalay sits directly on Choeng Mon Beach on the island's quieter northeast tip, and its palm-shaded, Olympic-size beachfront pool is the centrepiece of the resort. The pass costs THB 2,000 net per adult and THB 1,000 net per child aged 5 to 12, and children under 4 go free. Each adult pass comes with either breakfast at Boho or THB 1,000 of dining credit at SHADES, the poolside lounge and bar, so a good part of the price comes back as food and drink.

Kimpton Kitalay is an IHG resort with 138 rooms, suites and villas laid out like a small island village. It has five restaurants and bars, a spa, a 24-hour gym and a kids' club, and its FishHouse restaurant has appeared in the MICHELIN Guide. The day pass is part of a wider programme the resort calls The No-Check-In Club, aimed at people staying elsewhere on Samui who want a resort pool day without booking a room.

What the Kimpton Kitalay Samui Day Pass Includes

According to the resort's own day pass page, the Chill Out Day Pass includes access to the swimming pool, pool towels, and sun loungers on a first come, first served basis. Adults then choose between breakfast at Boho Thai Lifestyle Cafe or a THB 1,000 food and beverage credit at SHADES Ocean Lounge and Bar. The child pass carries a THB 500 credit instead. The resort states that the day pass covers its pool and beach facilities, and that other resort facilities are not part of the experience.

Prices are net, which means the 10% service charge and 7% government tax are already included. Advance booking of at least 24 hours is required, and the terms say management can refuse entry to walk-in guests who have not booked. Credits must be used on the day of the visit, cannot be rolled over to another day, and passes are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you choose breakfast, note that it is served from 07:00 to 11:00 with last entry at 10:30, so plan an early start.

The No-Check-In Club page also lists a Poolside Cabana for up to four hours with a THB 2,000 food and beverage credit at SHADES, a refreshment box and small extras such as sunscreen and cold towels. The same page shows the cabana at THB 4,500 net in one section and THB 6,500 net in another, so confirm the current cabana rate when booking. A separate Wellness Social Club pass at THB 1,000++ per adult covers the gym, sauna, steam room and daily wellness classes for people who want a fitness day rather than a pool day.

Facilities

The main draw is the oceanfront infinity pool, which runs alongside the beach and is framed by palms and shaded cabanas. SHADES serves frozen treats, cocktails and light dishes by the water, and on some days a DJ plays chilled sets. Boho is the all-day Thai and international cafe, HOM Bakery and Cafe offers coffee and pastries, and SHIO is a small Japanese sushi bar. The resort notes that some outlets open seasonally depending on demand.

For families, the resort runs the JUNIO Kids' Club. The day pass page is not consistent on whether day pass children can use it: one section says children enjoy complimentary kids' club access subject to capacity, while the terms say the Chill Out Day Pass does not include the kids' club and that walk-in guests can buy a Kids Club Day Pass for THB 500 net per child. Ask when you book if kids' club time matters to you. Kimpton Kitalay is also known for being pet friendly for overnight guests.

Location and Getting There

Kimpton Kitalay is at 10/79 Moo 5, Bophut, on Choeng Mon Beach in the far northeast of Koh Samui. Samui International Airport is about 5.5 kilometres away, roughly a 15-minute drive, and the resort says Fisherman's Village and central Chaweng are each about 15 minutes by car. Choeng Mon is a calm, shallow bay with a handful of upscale resorts, so it suits a slower beach day than Chaweng. Taxis and ride-hailing cars are the easiest way to get there from other parts of the island.

Good to Know

Book at least a day ahead by contacting the resort, as walk-ins can be refused. Sun loungers are not reserved, so arriving earlier in the day gives the best choice. The resort states that The No-Check-In Club is available until 19 December 2026, and it reserves the right to change the terms or end the pass without notice, so check before you travel if your visit falls near or after that date. For a relaxed, design-led pool day on a quiet beach, the Kimpton Kitalay Samui day pass is one of the more polished options on the north and east coasts, and the dining credit makes the price easier to justify.
