Overview

The Maya Resort Samui day pass is one of the cheapest ways for families to spend a full day at a resort pool in Bophut. Maya Resort is a small family resort about 150 metres from the central entrance to Fisherman's Village, built around two swimming pools, an indoor kids' club and a shaded outdoor playground. A Single Day Pass costs THB 350 per person, adult or child, and a Family Day Pass costs THB 1,200 for two adults and two children. Children under 2 go free with either pass. The resort is open to day visitors from 08:00 to 19:00 every day.

Maya describes itself as a resort designed around children rather than one that simply accepts them. It is aimed at parents of babies, toddlers and young children who want a calm, practical base close to Fisherman's Village, and the day pass lets families staying elsewhere on the island use the same facilities for a day. It is not a beachfront property, so this is a pool and play day rather than a beach day, although Bophut Beach and the village waterfront are a short walk away.

What the Maya Resort Samui Day Pass Includes

According to the resort's own day pass page, the pass includes access to both swimming pools, use of the indoor kids' club with supervision, entry to the outdoor playground with swings and slides, and participation in the daily children's activities, which the resort lists as arts and crafts, science experiments and games. Day visitors can also use the resort's bicycles and scooters free of charge, and there is a free arts and crafts class, so check the day's schedule for timings.

There are two price options. The Single Day Pass is THB 350 per person and applies to adults and children alike. The Family Day Pass is THB 1,200 and covers two adults and two children, which works out cheaper than four single passes. Children under 2 are free with either pass. If you only need the kids' club and not the pools, hourly kids' club access is available at THB 120 per child, for ages 0 to 8, babies included.

The resort's rules say children under 3 must stay with a parent or nanny at all times. Children aged 3 and over can stay in the kids' club on their own, as long as a parent stays on the resort grounds. Nannies enter the kids' club free, but a nanny who wants to use the pool needs a Single Day Pass.

Facilities

The two pools sit side by side in a tropical garden, with sun loungers and umbrellas around them and the playground close by, so parents can keep an eye on children while relaxing. The outdoor playground includes swings, a bamboo treehouse, open play space, bicycles and scooters. A sandpit and a small animal area with turtles and hedgehogs are popular with younger children.

The indoor kids' club is a fully covered, air-conditioned space for children from 6 months to 8 years old. The floor is covered with soft mats, and the play equipment is made from child-safe materials. Younger children have soft play areas and baby toys, while 4 to 8 year olds get slides, tunnels, climbing frames, books and a creative corner for painting and crafts. There are tables and chairs where parents can sit with a coffee or a laptop. On weekends the resort adds bubbles, cotton candy and kids' disco parties. Maya Restaurant is next to the playground and pools for meals and drinks during the day.

Location and Getting There

Maya Resort Samui is at 3/56 Moo 1, Fisherman's Village, Bophut, Koh Samui, about 150 metres from the central entrance to Fisherman's Village. That puts it within walking distance of the village's restaurants, shops and the Friday walking street, and a short drive from Samui International Airport and Chaweng. Bophut is on the north coast and is generally calmer than Chaweng, which makes it a practical area for families.

Good to Know

The opening hours for day visitors are 08:00 to 19:00 daily. Kids' club hours are 09:00 to 19:00 in low season and 09:00 to 21:00 in high season, which the resort defines as 15 December to 30 April and 5 July to 30 August. Bring swimwear and sun protection for the children, and check the activity schedule when you arrive. To ask questions or confirm availability, email rsvn@mayaresortsamui.com or call +66 62 221 9750. For families staying in Bophut or nearby who want a safe, child-focused pool day at a low price, the Maya Resort Samui day pass is hard to beat on the north coast.
