Overview

SO/ Sofitel Hua Hin is a playful, design-led beachfront resort in Bang Kao, Cha-am, in Phetchaburi province, and the SO/ Sofitel Hua Hin daycation is a private pool villa day package rather than a standard pool ticket. Despite the Hua Hin name, the resort is on Cha-am beach, north of Cha-am town, with a long sandy shoreline in front and forested hills behind. It is best known as a family resort, with four swimming pools, an inflatable obstacle course on the water, an adventure golf course and a supervised kids' club.

The day package is called the SO/ Daycation Pool Villa. It gives a small group its own private pool villa for the day, from 10:00 to 20:00, with food, drinks, dining credit and resort activities bundled in. That makes it very different from a per-person pool pass: the price covers the villa for up to four people, so it works best for a family or a group of friends who want space, privacy and a full day of facilities without staying overnight.

What the Daycation Includes

The official voucher, sold through the resort's own online voucher shop (linked from its Instagram bio), lists the following inclusions:

• A private pool villa for the day, for 2 adults and 2 children or for 4 adults
• Welcome wine and mocktails
• A floating afternoon tea in your private pool
• A shared Western or Asian platter at Beach Society
• THB 500 dining credit per guest at White Oven, Beach Society and SO Sundae
• Access to the Kids' Tent, the 18-hole mini golf course, pickleball and the Technogym SO/ FIT gym
• A complimentary scooter sidecar ride for two children
• 20% off treatments at SO/ SPA

The dining credit can be used on food and beverages, including the Moo Kra Ta at White Oven, at Beach Society and at SO Sundae, plus drinks and alcohol. It is a one-time credit, and any leftover amount cannot be exchanged for cash.

Price and Booking Terms

The SO/ Daycation Pool Villa costs THB 7,999 net per villa. The voucher page lists the validity as no expiry. Advance booking of at least 48 hours is required, and full prepayment is needed before using the service. The voucher is not valid for special events or festive programmes, and it cannot be combined with ALL Accor+ Explorer, ALL member or other discounts and promotions.

Pools and Facilities

The resort describes four swimming pools. The Signature Pool is a 16 by 60 metre water playground with the Wibit inflatable adventure course and a dedicated kids' pool area, open daily from 9:00 to 18:30 with a lifeguard on duty. The Jacuzzi and Cabana pool sits directly on the Cha-am beachfront with beach beds and cabanas and is open from 7:00 to 21:00. The Solarium Pool, in the centre of the resort, is an adults-only pool surrounded by colourful umbrellas, also open from 7:00 to 21:00. The Wet Bubble pool is designed like a playful octopus with a water playground, a water slide, a trampoline and a climbing wall.

Other facilities include the 1,310 square metre Wonderland Adventure Golf course styled as an enchanted forest, a 2.2 km cycling track around the resort with mountain and tandem bikes, the Kids Tent children's club, and a new 24/7 Technogym fitness centre. Restaurants include Beach Society, White Oven and SO Sundae.

Location and Getting There

The official address is 115 Moo 7, Tambol Bang Kao, Amphur Cha-am, Phetchaburi 76120. The resort is on the coast north of Cha-am town, so visitors staying in Hua Hin should allow for a longer drive than to the resorts on the Hua Hin side of Cha-am. Good to Know

Because the price is per villa, the SO/ Sofitel Hua Hin daycation is good value for a group of four and expensive for one or two people. Families get the most out of it, since the kids' activities, the Wibit course, the Wet Bubble pool and the mini golf are all close to hand. Couples who mainly want quiet pool time may prefer the adults-only Solarium Pool area, which is part of the wider resort.
