The Standard Hua Hin day pass is one of the easiest ways to spend a full pool day in the centre of Hua Hin without booking a room. The hotel sits on Naresdamri Road, a short walk from the night market, the old railway station and the main stretch of Hua Hin Beach, and it sells a day pass to outside visitors for its pool, sunbeds and a towel, with part of the price returned as food and drink credit at the poolside bar.
Overview
The Standard, Hua Hin is a design-led beachfront hotel with 196 rooms, suites and villas set in a garden of native plants, steps from the Gulf of Thailand. It is known for its bright yellow and white sun loungers, a lively pool scene and a mix of restaurants and bars. The hotel was named on the Condé Nast Traveler Hot List in 2022 and holds a One Key rating in the 2024 Michelin Guide Thailand, which gives a sense of the standard of the facilities day visitors share with hotel guests.
The day pass is aimed squarely at people who are not staying at the hotel. The hotel describes it simply: if you are not staying, come by for a pool day instead. That makes it a practical option for residents, people staying in smaller guesthouses or condos in town, and visitors on a day trip from Bangkok who want a proper resort pool for a few hours.
What the Day Pass Includes
The pass gives access to The Pool and its sunbeds from 10:00 to 19:00 on the day of purchase, plus one towel per person. Prices differ between weekdays and weekends, and they are quoted with "++", meaning the 10 percent service charge and 7 percent VAT are added on top.
On Monday to Friday the adult pass is THB 800++ and the child pass is THB 400++. On Saturday and Sunday the adult pass is THB 1,000++ and the child pass is THB 500++. Children under six enter free of charge.
For adults, THB 500++ of the price is given back as food and beverage credit at Lido Pool Bar. The rest of the price covers pool access and cannot be spent on food or drinks. The credit is valid only at Lido Pool Bar, so it cannot be used at Praça, Lido Restaurant or any other outlet in the hotel. Child passes, for ages six to eleven, include pool access plus one fruit juice or one coconut, with no food and drink credit. Anything ordered beyond the credit is paid separately.
Facilities and Food
Lido Bar, the bar that takes the day pass credit, sits beside the pool and serves cocktails, American-style bites and light Thai dishes. It opens daily from 10:00 to 20:00, and until 22:00 on Saturdays. If you want a proper meal, Lido is the hotel's all-day Italian restaurant, and Praça is a beachfront Thai izakaya-style bar and restaurant facing the Gulf, open from midday. The Juice Cafe in the garden sells coffee, juices, smoothies and healthy snacks from 7:00 to 18:00. These outlets are paid separately and do not accept the day pass credit.
The hotel also has The Standard Spa, a 24-hour gym and sauna for hotel guests, and The Play Roof, a kids' space with crafts and a giant swing. Day pass access itself is limited to the pool and sunbeds, so the spa, gym and kids' club should be treated as separate, paid or guest-only facilities unless the hotel confirms otherwise.
Location and Getting There
The hotel is at 59 Naresdamri Road in central Hua Hin, close to the Hua Hin Beach promenade, the Chatchai Market area and the night market on Dechanuchit Road. Most hotels and condos in town are a short songthaew, Grab or tuk-tuk ride away, and many visitors staying near the clock tower can walk. From Bangkok the drive is roughly three hours, which is why the pass is popular with weekend visitors who come down for a single day.
Good to Know
Advance booking is required. The hotel takes bookings through its LINE link and by phone on +66 32 535 999. Passes are for outside guests only, are valid only on the day of purchase and are non-transferable. If you are unsure, the hotel allows you 10 minutes to look around before you commit.
Plan around the weekend price difference: a weekday visit costs THB 200++ less per adult than a Saturday or Sunday. Bring sunscreen and swimwear, and note that only one towel is provided per person.
For a central Hua Hin pool day with a beach view, good food and a credit that offsets lunch, The Standard Hua Hin day pass is a strong choice. Check the hotel's official day pass page before you go, as prices and conditions can change.
Fast wifi, power at the tables and space to spread out. Comfortable for a long lunch, a call or a work session.
