Overview
The AUM Phangan sauna and ice bath session costs THB 400 per guest, all in, and runs every afternoon and evening at AUM Sound Healing Center, a jungle wellness venue in the Wang Takien area of Koh Phangan. AUM has been operating since 2014 and is best known for its nightly sound healing ceremonies with gongs and Tibetan bowls, but its wood sauna and ice bath have become a regular ritual for residents and visitors in their own right. The session is open daily from 15:00 and lasts around three hours, and AUM says no booking is needed, although tickets can also be reserved online.
The venue covers about 1,600 square metres of open tropical land, with open-sided shalas under the palms, fire bowls and gongs. There is a pool on site, used for AUM's sound healing in the pool sessions, and a communal restaurant known as The Long Table.
What the AUM Phangan Sauna and Ice Bath Session Includes
AUM's official experience page lists the Sauna and Ice Bath at THB 400 per guest, all in, for a session of about three hours with a group size of up to 12. Included in the price:
- Use of the sauna, with aroma oils, sauna hats and herbal brooms provided
- Use of the ice bath for contrast therapy between heat rounds
- Time in the venue's lounge areas between rounds
AUM describes the benefit as a reset for the nervous system through the contrast of warm sauna and cold immersion. Private hours in the sauna can also be booked separately.
Passes for Regular Visitors
For longer stays, AUM's passes page lists:
- Sauna and Ice Bath, Weekly: 1,500 THB for seven days of unlimited sauna and ice bath
- Sauna and Ice Bath, Monthly: 2,500 THB for 30 days of unlimited use, including herbal tea and the lounge
- Digital Nomad Reset, Monthly: 7,500 THB for unlimited sauna and ice bath plus all group sound healing, morning yoga and kundalini classes, and four dinners
AUM says its passes are priced against walk-in rates and are handled through its Telegram channel.
Sound Healing and Evening Rituals
Many visitors combine the sauna with one of AUM's evening experiences. The schedule on the website includes Cosmic Octave (from 700 THB), collective sound healing sessions (from 1,000 THB) and Soul Connection, a sound healing session in the pool (from 1,500 THB). A fire is lit every night, and the venue regularly hosts ecstatic dance, AUM chanting and full-moon ceremonies. Check the weekly schedule on the website for exact dates.
Location and Getting There
AUM Phangan is at 69/5 Wang Takien, Moo 8, Koh Phangan 84280, in the jungle inland on the west side of the island. The website links to the venue on Google Maps, which is the easiest way to find it by scooter or taxi, especially after dark. Thong Sala pier, where most ferries from Koh Samui, Koh Tao and Surat Thani arrive, is a short drive away.
Who It Suits
The session suits travellers who want a slower, social alternative to a gym recovery room. Three hours is enough for several rounds of heat and cold with rests in between, and because the venue is open-air and lit by fire in the evening, it leads easily into one of AUM's evening sound sessions rather than being a quick plunge. Weekly and monthly passes make sense for longer stays, while first-timers can simply walk in with swimwear and a towel.
