Overview
The Recovery Club Koh Tao day pass costs 270 THB and gives a full day of access to what the club describes as the biggest sauna on the island, a filtered ice bath and an open-air rooftop with views over the jungle. Recovery Club is a contrast therapy centre built for the divers, Muay Thai fighters, gym-goers and travellers who pass through Koh Tao, and it works on a simple walk-in basis: there is no booking, you turn up, choose a pass at the desk and start your first round.
The club sits on the upper level of a building next to Gym and Fitness Koh Tao, so it is easy to combine a workout with a recovery session in one stop. Opening hours are 9:30 to 21:00 every day except Tuesday, when it is closed.
What the Recovery Club Koh Tao Day Pass Includes
The official price list on the club's website shows the following:
- Day Pass, 270 THB: full access for a single day, including the sauna and ice bath, the rooftop sunset sessions and use of the Biohack Bar (food and drinks are paid separately)
- Couple Pass, 500 THB: the same day access for two guests coming together
- 5 Day Passes, 1,200 THB: valid for 30 days, which works out at 240 THB per visit
- 10 Day Passes, 2,100 THB: valid for 60 days, or 210 THB per visit
- 20 Day Passes, 3,600 THB: valid for 100 days, or 180 THB per visit
The website also lists longer memberships for residents. All passes are chosen and paid for at the club.
The Facilities
Wood-fire sauna. The centrepiece is a wood-fired sauna that the club runs at 85°C and above. It has room to stretch out and large windows looking over the jungle-covered hills, and it is heated by a traditional wood stove rather than an electric element.
Filtered ice bath. The cold plunge is professionally filtered and kept at 2 to 4°C. The club pitches it for reducing inflammation and speeding up muscle recovery, and alternating it with the sauna is the core of the contrast therapy routine.
Rooftop. Between rounds, guests can rest on the open-air rooftop, which has loungers, reliable internet and what the club calls the best sunset view over the jungle. The club suggests 17:30 to 19:00 as the most social time of day.
Biohack Bar. The bar serves fresh coconuts cracked to order, electrolytes, protein shakes and nootropic drinks, along with blue lotus tea. These are paid for separately from the pass.
Extras. The club also mentions board games, massage guns, bean bags and comfortable spots to work between sessions, making it practical for remote workers who want to spend a few hours there.
Location and Getting There
Recovery Club's listed address is 35, 42, Koh Tao, Surat Thani 84360, next to Gym and Fitness. The club links to its location on Google Maps from every page of its website, which is the easiest way to navigate there by scooter, taxi or on foot. Koh Tao is small, so most accommodation in Sairee, Mae Haad and Chalok is a short ride away. Ferries from Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Chumphon arrive at Mae Haad Pier.
Who It Suits
The club is popular with divers coming off multi-dive days, people training Muay Thai or lifting at nearby gyms, and anyone looking for a calm few hours out of the sun. A day pass is the best way to try it once, while the 5, 10 and 20 visit bundles reward longer stays and bring the cost per visit down to as little as 180 THB.
