Overview

The Vikasa healthy day pass is a ready-made yoga and wellness day at Vikasa Yoga Retreat, a well-known seaside yoga resort on the east coast of Koh Samui between Chaweng Noi and Lamai. Vikasa calls these its Wellbeing day passes: a bite-sized taste of the retreat built around three pillars, yoga, spa therapies and fresh, vibrant food. The Vikasa Healthy Half Day costs 2,250 THB and includes a buffet brunch or dinner at Life Café, a 60-minute Thai oil massage, one public yoga class and access to the infinity pool and juice bar. The Vikasa Healthy Full Day costs 3,850 THB and doubles up on most of it.

Vikasa is primarily a residential yoga retreat and teacher-training centre, but its group classes are open to the public and the healthy days are designed for travellers who are only on the island for a short time. The setting is the main draw: classes take place in open salas with unbroken ocean views over the Gulf of Thailand.

What the Day Passes Include

Vikasa Healthy Half Day: 2,250 THB

  • Buffet brunch or dinner at Life Café
  • 1 x 60-minute Thai oil massage
  • 1 x daily public yoga class
  • Access to the infinity pool and juice bar

Vikasa Healthy Full Day: 3,850 THB

  • Buffet brunch and dinner at Life Café
  • 1 x 90-minute Thai oil massage
  • 2 x daily public yoga classes
  • Access to the infinity pool and juice bar

Both options are valid at any time and are booked by email in advance. Vikasa describes the experience as a chance to switch off your phone, immerse yourself in the natural surroundings and press pause on the outside world for a few hours.

Drop-In Yoga Classes

If you only want to practise, Vikasa's group yoga classes are open to non-guests without a healthy day package. There is no need to pre-book: arrive 10 to 15 minutes before class for check-in. The posted prices are:

  • Single class: 600 THB, valid any time (book online or drop in)
  • Unlimited weekly pass: 1,700 THB, valid for one week
  • 1 month unlimited: 3,500 THB, valid for one month

Weekly and monthly passes are bought in class or at reception. Classes suit all levels, teachers offer modifications for beginners and advanced students, and mats, props, towels and water are provided in the yoga sala. Public classes are taught in the white sala, and reception can help with directions on arrival. Styles on the schedule include restorative 'Chill' classes with longer holds in passive poses, designed to relieve tension and physical exhaustion.

Private Sessions

For one-to-one attention, a 60-minute private yoga class costs 2,500 THB for one person or 3,000 THB for two, in an ocean-view location with mats and props provided. A Private Yoga and Wellbeing package (10,000 THB, valid for one month) bundles four private classes, a private Reiki session and a 90-minute Thai oil massage. Private sessions are booked by contacting the team.

Life Café

Life Café is Vikasa's restaurant and the food element of every healthy day. It serves the buffet brunch and dinner included in the passes, which Vikasa describes as delicious, vibrant cuisine, and the juice bar beside the infinity pool is included for day guests.

Location and Getting There

Vikasa is on the coastal ring road (Thawi Ratchaphakdi Road) on Koh Samui's east coast, in the hills between Chaweng Noi and Lamai near Coral Cove. The official website links to its Google Maps listing for directions. It is roughly 10 to 15 minutes by road from both Chaweng and Lamai, and taxis and scooters are the easiest way to reach it.
